Bidrea Alnasser, Ph.D.

Dr. Bidrea Alnasser is a Visiting Scholar at UC Berkeley’s Ethnic Studies Department. She holds a PhD in Politics and International Studies from the University of Warwick, UK and is currently receiving professional training in Data Science. She is researching into state computational propaganda using Saudi Arabia as her case study with narrative methods. Her forthcoming research will focus on examining the gender gap and bias in AI using feminist approaches. Her broad research interests are in the following areas: Feminist and Social Epistemology, Narratology, Gender & Racial Bias in Artificial Intelligence and Artificial Intelligence in International Development. 

Dr. Alnasser is advising the Global Women's Narratives Project on technology and data in archival narrative methodology.
